Caring for fine jewellery

Caring for Your Fine Jewellery at Home

← Back to News

Fine jewellery is durable, but a little care keeps it looking its best. A short routine is all it takes.

Everyday habits

Put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray — and take it off first. Store pieces separately so they don't scratch each other, ideally in a lined box or soft pouch.

A gentle clean

Soak in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap for ten minutes, brush softly with a baby toothbrush, rinse and pat dry. That's enough for most rings and earrings between professional cleanings.

Bring your pieces in once a year for a check of the settings and a proper polish — it's complimentary for every Carat & Kin piece.
